The country is grieving today–the mass shootings that have occurred just this past week are truly devastating.
On July 28, 2019, at 5:40 p.m., a mass shooting occurred at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA resulting in four deaths–including the gunman–and 12 injuries.
On August 3, 2019, a 21-year-old gunman armed with a powerful rifle turned a crowded Walmart store in the majority-Hispanic border city of El Paso, TX into a scene of chaos and bloodshed, killing 20 and injuring 29 others.
On August 4, 2019, a gunman dressed in body armor opened fire in a downtown district of Dayton, OH in the early morning hours, killing nine and wounding at least 26 others.
Enough is enough.
We’re pushing up our donation date.
We have decided to push our first donation date up to September 30, 2019 to support our friends working hard to fund gun violence research, eliminate absurd restrictions on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (a federal agency that works to regulate the gun industry), implement universal background checks, and ban high-capacity magazines.
On September 30, 2019, we’ll be donating to March for Our Lives. We encourage you to review the policy agenda published by this organization.
